You are using tap water, everything that is in it that tap water is being absorbed through your skin, like chlorine and any other chemical or mineral that is in that water. The high humidity in these steam showers are a breeding ground for all kinds of infection causing bacteria. This is why you need a quick shower after sitting in the steam shower. That being said, you also have just absorbed those same bacteria through your skin. Improper installation can lead to some major headaches. If your steam shower has been improperly installed, moisture that has collected on your ceiling will drip all over you while you are in the steam shower. Another drawback is the cost of the full unit, including delivery and installation. It can be very costly to install depending on the size of your shower.
